Dr. Matilda Naputi RiveraOur very own PIBBA webmaster, Dr. Matilda Naputi Rivera, received a nice Easter gift last week when she passed her orals and completed all doctoral requirements for California Coast University (CCU). CCU is a nationally accredited university and more information about the institution can be found by visiting http://www.calcoast.edu/. She received her second doctorate degree in Education! Her dissertation is titled Toward the Development of a Model Program Using Digital Storytelling to Build Schema of English Language Learners in Guam.
Dr. Rivera said that she will share her research with fellow ESL teachers to empower them to use the model program she researched, so that they can further strengthen their instruction for English Language Learners. Although her research focused on ELLs, she said that the model program can be used with all students across the grade levels.
Congratulations, Dr. Rivera, on a job well done! You have earned the famous PIBBA Banana Split!
